Frequently  Asked  Questions

Here are some answers to frequently asked questions to help you better understand The Gridiron C.R.I.B. and what we offer.

PARENTS:

Q: Who Can Play?

A: This program is open to Boys and Girls, 7 years old - 18 years old.  18 year olds must be enrolled in 12th grade and not committed to a college. Participants from any city can register for any of our programs.  

Q: How are teams formed?

A: Full teams, buddy requests and coach requests are always encouraged to sign up.  However, individuals can sign up on their own as well.  We will do our best to spread players around evenly based on age, school, and  experience.

Q: How many players are on a team?

A: We aim to have 8 players per team for 10u and below, and 10 players 12u and up.  This includes a registered team that may have additional player(s) added to their team if other teams are full.  There may be instances where an additional players or two are added depending on coach and parent requests. 

Q: How many Divisions will there be?

A: The divisions will be as followed:
- 10U
- 12U
- 14U
- 18U

*Divisions are subject to change depending on the number of players registered in each age group.*

Q: Does the league supply uniforms?

A: Yes!  Each player will receive an NFL FLAG reversible team jersey and a flag belt.

Q: How much playing time can my child expect?

A: Coaches are required to fairly allocate playing time equally among all players on the team. Coaches will do their best to ensure all players receive equal playing time. 

Q: Are there playoffs?

A: There will be playoffs and a Super Bowl for each age divisions!  Playoffs will depend on number of teams registered per age group. 

Q: Is any safety gear mandatory?

A: Yes, it is mandatory that all players are wearing a mouth pieces and head gear before stepping on the field.

Q: How long do games last?

A: Regular season games will consist of two 22 minute halves with a 2 minute half time.  All games will have a running clock that will only stop for injuries, half-time and timeouts (each team has two 60-second timeout per half).

COACHES:

Q: What qualifications are needed to be a coach?

A: The volunteer positions are mostly filled by parents, relatives or friends of the players on the team.  We do not require coaches to have experience prior to joining the team. All coaches will be background checked, attend the mandatory coaches meeting/training and complete a on-line concussion training.

Q: How many coaches can a team have?

A: Each team can have 3 coaches on the sideline during the game. We will also allow each team to have 1 photographer/videographer filming their team and taking pictures. Parents & spectators must remain in the designated spectator areas.

Q: Can the team have additional practices during the week?

A: No, having a practice outside a sanctioned days and times is an insurance liability.
